Bestival Investigation

Scientists abound with our Year 5 science investigation.

The children have worked hard for suggestions of work surfaces that can be sustainable within this modern day society. Looking at a challenge set by "Bestival" to provide a work surface to use within the environment, year 5 have been looking at a variety of widely available, everyday materials, testing the durability and absorbency.

Metal, wool, wood, tin foil, chalk and a few other everyday items were tested by the children. Cutting, scratching and immersing in water provided an overall durability of the substance within the setting.

Some of the substances stood up to the demands placed upon them by our scientists, some unfortunately were less up to the tasks.
