Exciting Egyptians

For our first topic of the year we have been looking at the Ancient Egyptians. We have looked at why the River Nile was so important to the people who lived during that time, their hobbies, the gods as well as many other aspects of life.

The children have loved the topic so far and have really engaged in all aspects of the curriculum. As a task over the holidays, they were given free choice and could create anything they wanted. They really rose to the challenge and have made some fantastic Egyptian items as well as creating some very interesting and informative presentations.

We are very proud of the effort the children put in. The pieces of work created ranged from scrolls written in hieroglyphics, pyramids made from cardboard or clay, posters and powerpoint presentations.

Take a look at a small selection!
